Kauai is a popular spot for both freshwater and saltwater anglers. Marlin, ahi, ono, and aku are found off Kauai's south and east coasts. Charters offer trips to private island of Niihau for giant tuna and marlin. Fishing is also done out of the north shore with boats leaving from Anini beach.
The best diving on Kauai is found along the southern shore because waters are calmer. The water is clear, with visibility averaging about 50 feet,
and sea life is abundant. Diving is excellent on the north shore but in mostly summer season when the seas are calm.
Of all the ways to explore Kauai, from horseback must be among
the best. There are many scenic trails that follow along the coast.
